My Pilgrim’s Heart

These blogs are extracts from my travel memoir, My Pilgrim’s Heart, which is the story of a very long walk and ensuing adventures. In 2007, my son walked 7000 kms from Canterbury to Jerusalem. I joined him in Rome for the middle leg of his journey, and walked 1500 kms in his company across Italy and through the Balkans, before driving across Turkey into Syria and then, a year later, flying to the Middle East to welcome him at his journey’s end.
